Busy week for harriers

It’s been a busy week so far in the athletics calendar with harriers racing far and wide.

On Tuesday night two Harriers were in action in different venues. Club secretary Jenny Bill travelled to take part in the second of the East Antrim trail series. Jenny has been going well in triathlon season and finished 11th in this race – 2nd woman. Results here.

In Maghera Conor Curran made the journey to compete in the 10k. Conor has been threatening to demolish his PB for quite a while and Tuesday night was the night for it. Conor ran a negative split to finish in 3rd place with a 30+ second PB of 33:25 and by all accounts was catching the Portugese pair at the front only to run out of ground. Results here.

On Wednesday again there were two different venues for harriers racing. In the notoriously fast Buncrana 5k Cathy McCourt and Darryl Blair took part. Darryl ran a great race to finish 14th in 16:17 and demolish his PB. Cathy finished second woman in what was another great time of 17:30. Results here.

In Banbridge Davy Brady just about beat the traffic to get there on time and post a top ten finish. Davy, who is only getting back into the racing again, posted 37:03 to finish eighth on a very difficult 10k course. Alan Ritchie had a good run to demolish his time from last year and finish 12th in 37:48. Results here.
