Several Harriers took to the line on Wednesday night for the Craigavon 10k around the lakes. The course is renowned for being flat however the wind on Wednesday night made it a little bit more difficult than normal.
Conor Curran was first Harrier over the line in 3rd place. Conor ran his second sub 34 10k in succession to post 33:45 and fend of Ballymena’s Neill Douglas ,who he’s been having a running battle with in recent races, over the last mile.
Michael Fitzpatrick had his usual strong race to finish next Harrier in 6thwith 34:12 while occasional club trainer, the faster of the two Grew brothers, Brendan finished 9th in 35:54.
Stephen Walker continued to show the benefits of the track-work he’s been doing at boys model to record a new PB of 37:17 and finish in 13th.
Greg McClure had another good race as well to finish 18th in 38:37.
Paul Rowan won in a time of 33:05 while Richard Turkington was second in 33:10 with Rowan showing his experience in the second lap to pull away.
It was also good to see injured Harrier Connor Magill out supporting his clubmates. Connor is finally making progress with his knee injury and hopes to be back racing in September.
