Last night saw perfect conditions for the annual Lisburn Half Marathon and 10k and the Harriers continued their winning ways in fine style.
The men’s 10km was won by Harrier Eamon White in a time of 32.40 well clear of East Down’s Brendan Teer. Darryl Blair finished third in 34.05, narrowly missing his “sub 34” target but taking some good scalps. Alan Ritchie had a great race to finish 11th in 36:28 with Paul Jenkins just outside the 37 minutes in 37:08 finishing 19th.
Next Harrier home was Steven Walker in 39.05. We understand the men won the men’s team prize.
In the Women’s 10km, there was a North Belfast Harriers 1-2.
Breege Connolly showed a clean pair of heels to the women’s field easily winning in 37.08 from club mate and friend Cathy McCourt who was second in 38.03. New club mate, Judi Graham marked her debut with a solid time of 40.18 – with three to score, the Harriers easily won the women’s team prize.
In the Half Marathon event, Mick Fitzpatrick was 12th in 1.16.55, Paddy Hamill was 24th in 1.23.18 and Greg McClure was 39th in 1.25.38.
