Harriers dominate Laganside 10km

Stephen Scullion and Breege Connolly provided the host club with the Male and Female Open winners in today’s Laganside 10km on Ormeau Embankment.

Scullion had St Malachy’s athlete Joe McAllister for company today but proved he was a class apart going on to win in 30.47 to McAllister’s 31.01.

Alan McCullough showed he is benefitting from the move back to the club with a strong performance to finish 5th in 32.45 just behind Paul Rowan. Conor Curran finished in 8th place in 33.48 to seal the team victory for the Harriers.

In the women’s race, Breege Connolly ran a controlled race to win in 36.24 easily ahead of Julie Balmer, North Down AC in 38.08. Harrier’s Lisa Sturgeon took third female spot in 39.20.
