Men and age group winners in Larne / Simon’s hectic weekend / Wicklow way

It was the Larne half marathon at the weekend and with many Harriers using it as marathon prep and others racing it 46 took to the line. There were many standout performances with the men(top 4 to score) taking team honours, the women falling just short due to a registration “issue” and several age group winners. It must be noted that as well as people with experienced racing backgrounds this year we had several participants from our Jog Belfast scheme who have went from being unable to run 5k to running a half marathon thus illustrating the success and benefit of this program and also rewarding the hard work everyone put in.

Nottingham XC

BjbqcohIcAABGQh.jpg largeConal McCambridge travelled to Nottingham as the sole representative of the NI U20 team. With Conal having a few years at U20 this was a great experience for him and he put in a solid shift to finish in 31st.

Experienced marathon runner Alan Ritchie made the journey to Rome at the weekend and despite suffering an incident at 29k managed to limp home in a strong 3:18.

Wicklow way ultra

Robert Irvine travelled to Wicklow for the Wicklow way ultra marathon covering 51k (with 1,940 m of ascent) and had continued to show good form in the ultra scene finishing 16th in 5:18:14.
