On Saturday 31st May Rebecca Marquess and Caitlin Maguire made the 350 mile round trip to Tullamore, Co Offaly for the Aviva Irish Schools track and field finals having qualified from the Ulster Schools finals. Caitlin was first on the blocks in the blistering heat in the Intermediate girls 100m final. Caitlin had a fantastic race to run a new personal best of 12.77 to finish in 7th place. With only one hour to recover from her first final Caitlin was on the start line again in the 200m. Caitlin had another fantastic run to finish in 8th place with another personal best of 26.56. The last sprint race of the day saw Rebecca Marquess line up in the senior girls 200m final. Rebecca took almost two seconds off her personal best to finish in 6th place with a time of 26.40 seconds. A big congratulations from the club to both girls as this was their first national outdoor track and field competition.
