The first of the Firmus Super 6 Series took place on Thursday with a full program of events providing some brilliant results for our juniors including a number of podium places.
The night got underway with the Mini Boys 80 metres sprint, first home for NBH in second place was Zane McQuillan, making his debut for the Harriers in very impressive style with a time of 12.12, followed by strong finishes from Patrick Willis (8th) in 13.39, Eoin Privilege (25th) in 14.60 and Daniel Kelly (26th) in 14.64.
Next up was the Boys under 13, 100 metres, with Adam Thompson continuing to improve his form coming in 28th Place in a time of 16.68.
In the Girls Under 13, 100 metres, Lucia McGribbon was the first Harrier home in 13th Place in 16.11, closely followed by Catriona Morris (20th) in 16.90 and Emer Privilege (25th) in 17.57.
Rebbeca Bell had an impressive run in the Girls Under 15, 100 metres, finishing 12th with a time of 14.49.
The Girls Under 17, 100 metres sprint was up next and saw in form Caitlín Maguire put in an outstanding run to take 1st place in a time of 12.78.
Katie McCambridge continued to improve her form with a fantastic 3rd Place in the Senior Women’s 100 metres in a time of 14.93.
The Mini Girls, 1000 metres, followed with a very confident run from Alicia White McGivern (16th) in 3.98.
Lauren Cox ran a meticulous 1500 metres race in the Girls under 13 event winning her heat in a time of 5.22.49 and taking 2nd overall, Eimear O’Brien (9th) followed with a very strong run in 5.46.77.
There were excellent runs from Rebecca Wallace (6th) in 5.23.59 and Dominique McAllister (19th) in 5.56.97 in the Girls Under 15 1500 metres race.
There was a strong turnout of Harriers in the Boys Under 13, 1500 metres, with Fionn Nagle the first over the line in an impressive 4th place in 5.10.26, Luke Kelly (10th) followed in 5.21.44, Cian McGrath (15th) in 5.37.71, Callum McIlroy (18th) in 5.49.71 and Zane McQuillan (21st) in 6.23.16.
The Under 15 Boys, 1500 meters, seen a brilliant run from Tony McCambridge coming in 5th place in a time of 4.40.49.
On track, the night finished with Boys Under 17, 1500 metres, with Matthew McIlroy making his debut along with the on form Andrew Milligan. Both boys had solid runs with strong finishes, results to follow.
Off track the Juniors continued to impress in several field events. Alicia Whyte McGivern was placed 5th with a distance of 3.98 metres in the Mini Girls Shot.
Next up was the Under 13 Girls Long Jump with Catriona Morris (22nd) with 2.80 metres, Lucis McGribbon (24th) with 2.71metres and Emer Privilege (27th) in 2.60 metres.
The Mini Boys Long jump followed with Patrick Willis being placed 7th with a distance 2.74 metres, Daniel Kelly (20th) with 2.02 metres and Eoin Privilege (23rd) with 1.94.
The Under 13 Boys Long Jump finished the night for Harriers on field with Luke Kelly placing 21st with a jump of 3.00 metres.
