Tuesday 12th April was the first race in the East Antrim trail series and the race proved popular with a high entry of nearly 200. One junior harrier competed, PETER REED, coming in a very respectable place with a time of 23.02 over the tough 3mile course.
At the Ulster schools finals a good few junior harriers competed representing their schools. LAUREN COX 6th in the 800m with 2.38.37, REBECCA WALLACE 5th in the 1500m with 5.11.93, KELLEN FINLAY 4th in the High Jump with 1.35, TONY MCCAMBRIDGE 8th in the 1500m with 4.42.15, ANDREW MILLIGAN 5th in both the 400m and 800m with times of 56.60 & 2.08.71, CAITLIN MAGUIRE 2nd in the 100m with 12.80 and 3rd in the 200m with 27.46.
LUKE KELLY took it easy for once around the waterworks parkrun on Saturday for what was his 50th parkrun!
It was PBs all round at the inaugural 5k PB track event on Sunday, hosted by North Belfast Harriers. The event consisted of 6 races with several pacers in each event with the aim of attaining a new PB. ANDREW MILLIGAN was first up in the sub 17 event. Andrew crossed the line in 17.19(PB). In the next race 18-20mins, new member MATTHEW MCILROY crossed the line in 19.04 and newly returned HARRY BREWSTER crossed in 19.47. LUKE KELLY obtaining yet another PB with a time of 19.19 in the 3rd race, 19-20mins. PIARAS MCSHANE also got a well deserved PB with a time of 20.05.
