We had a strong turnout from our Juniors at the first two days of the NI and Ulster Age Groups and Senior Track and Field events at the Mary Peters Track on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June 2015.
The first day of competition saw Andrew Milligan competing in the Under 18 Boys 800 metres, claiming 6th place in his heat with a time of 2.13.96. Andrew followed this with another solid run in the Under 18 Boys 400 metres, placing 6th in his heat with a time of 56.02. Katie McCambridge rounded up the first day of competition for the Harriers, running in the Under 19 Women’s 100 meters, coming in 5th place in her heats in a time of 14.27.
Sunday morning seen Ellie Bradley take to the field to secure her place in the All Ireland Finals with 2nd place in the Girls Under 15 Hammer 2.5kg event with a distance of 25.01 metres, and 2nd place in the Girls Under 15 Javelin with 22.04 metres. Congratulations Ellie!
Back on track Rebecca Wallace was competing in the Under 14 Girls 800 metres with a very impressive 6th place in a time of 2.33.68. Dominque McAllister was up next, competing in the Under 16 Girls 800 metres, placing 10th with a time of 2.46.87, with Matthew McIlroy, rounding up the weekends competition in the Under 16 Boys 800 metres, placing 11th with a time of 2.19.44.
Massive well done to all our athletes competed this weekend and good luck to Caitlin Maguire, Rebecca Bell, Lauren Cox, Mollie O’Hare, Piaras McShane, Eamon Sheridan and Tony McCambridge who are all competing in the final day of Competition at Antrim Forum on Saturday.
