So another busy week of athletic events for NBH Juniors. First up on 17th June was Lisburn Fun Run where Rebecca Wallace, Lauren Cox and Brendan McCambridge represented the club and the two girls secured podium places – Rebecca in first place with Lauren in third. Great running, girls!!







Thursday 18th was the fourth event in the Firmus Energy Six series held at Mary Peters Track. This time there were no events for minis and instead offered an opportunity for relay teams. NBH Juniors entered seven teams in the 4x100m:

Under 13 boys – Zane McQuillan, Adam Thompson, Hugo Reilly-Stewart and Fintan Morris 6th place in 63.88
Under 15 boys – Kellen Finlay, Fionn Nagle, Luke Kelly and Cian McGrath 7th in just under the minute 59.57
Under 15 boys – Callum McIlroy, Isaac Jarman, Conor McCallion and Pól MagAoidh 8th in 61.24
Under 17 boys – Andrew Milligan, Niall Armstrong, Conor O’Rawe and Eamon Sheridan 8th in 55seconds.

Under 13 girls – Charlotte Willis, Catriona Morris, Lucia McGibbon and Maya Reilly-Stewart 4th in 63.62
Under 15 girls – Rebecca Wallace, Mollie O’Hare, Lauren Cox and Dominique McAllister 10th in 59.02
Under 17 girls – Rebecca Bell, Ellie Bradley, Katie O’Hare and Sinead O’Rawe took the bronze medal in 3rd place with 59.02.

The competition was fierce with teams from Rising Stars, other clubs and NBH Juniors all running strong and vying for a podium place so well done to our Under 17 girls relay who took third place. Girl power!!


The GloHealth Tailteann Inter-Provincial Championship took place on Friday 19th in Morton Stadium, Santry bringing together GloHealth Irish Intermediate School Champions from across Ireland to compete. Caitlin Maguire was part of the bronze-winning Girls Relay team representing Ulster Schools.

PARKRUN 20/06/2015
Several of our Juniors were out running on Saturday 20th at Waterworks parkrun. Tony McCambridge finished first with a time of 17:40, just two seconds off his PB and parkrun no.91 so Tony is on the countdown to joining the 100 run club! Next to finish was Luke Kelly in 15th place with a time of 19:58. Conor O’Rawe finished in 32nd place with a time of 22:33 and Niall Armstrong in 24:42 and finishing 62nd. Rachel Blythe-Stone took 173rd place in 35:47 and Jane O’Hara was the last of the NBH Junior girls in 40:06 and taking 182nd place.

Over at Ormeau parkrun Eva Kissenpfennig completed her 5k in 60th place with a time of 22:32.

Belfast Victoria saw a PB for Piaras McShane of 19:58, getting under the magical 20min mark for the first time. Well done Piaras!! Sean McShane finished in 88th place completing the distance in 23:56.

The McIlroy brothers ran at Larne with Matthew McIlroy taking 7th place in 20:31 and Callum McIlroy finishing in 9th place at 21:03.


The weekend of running finished with Lauren Cox acting as sweeper in the Run Divis Mountain 7.8mile Challenge. Steep hills, sunshine and she still looks fresh! Go girl!!

What a fab week of running for NBH Juniors! Well done everyone who took part.
