Donadea 50km (Irish 50k Championship)
Saturday saw the running of the 6th annual Donadea 50k in Donadea Forest Park, Co. Kildare. A record field of 200 runners lined up for ten laps of forest roads and trail and North Belfast Harrier, Matt Shields was soon working his way through the crowd with some brilliant even-paced running. Roughly averaging 22 minutes for the ten 5km laps, Matt finished in 3:43:55 for 15th place.
Parkanaur 10 Mile Trail Race
Saturday also saw the final race in the Sperrin Harriers Winter Trail Series at Parkanaur Forest. parkrun Results
It was a landmark at the Waterworks event and for parkrun in Ireland with the first runner Jim Clinton reaching the milestone of 250 parkruns completed. There was a great atmosphere today as all Jim’s family, friends and work colleagues swelled the numbers, many of them running along with Jim who incidentally had one of his best ever times today and only a few seconds off his PB.

Congratulations also to Margaret Stephens who earned their 100 T-shirt and also to Jansje who got their 50 notched up as well.
