The Pure Running 8.8km Cavehill Challenge is set for Saturday 28 May 2016 at 11am. The race offers participants a unique opportunity to test themselves over the trails of Cave Hill Country Park, taking in the stunning views from Belfast Castle, Bellevue and McArt’s Fort.
The race is organised by North Belfast Harriers and supported by Pure Running.
At just £10 for affiliated and £12 for unaffiliated runners, the event is a bargain when compared to other off-road events on the calendar. There is also a 2k race at 10.45am for under-16’s, with a £3 entry fee.
There are prizes for top three men and women plus 1st over 40′s & over 50′s male and female.
Entry park and number collection, start and gathering point will be at the Boys’ Model School on the North Circular Road on the day of event.
Changing, parking and showering facilities are also available at Boys’ Model School. This is a timed run but will be a personal challenge for all, and participants are free to walk, jog, or run as they see fit. Appropriate footwear and clothing should be worn – off-road shoes are recommended. It is the responsibility of all participants to ensure they are medically fit.
It is a great run for those who are new to the hills as well as those who are seasoned trail runners
