Subway Holywood Exchange Half Marathon & 10k 2017
Holywood Exchange 10k and Half Marathon took place on Sunday 2nd April 2017 with a few hundred runners in attendance. The Half Marathon was also part of the Pure Running Half Marathon Series 2017. The route of the Half Marathon was covered by two laps of an ‘out and back route’ with the finish line back at Holywood Exchange. The event was organised in conjunction with Charity Partner ‘The MS Society’.
North Belfast Harriers male Andrew Considine took first place in 1:16:24 with Brian Taggart (Sperrin Harriers) following in 1:17:53 (2nd place), while Connor Johnston (Unattached) crossed the line in 1:18:15 for 3rd place. Well done Andrew!
For the ladies Judith Lonnen of City of Lisburn AC finished in 1:24:44 (first place, Denise Logue (Ballydrain Harriers) 2nd place in 1:25:23 while Laura Wylie was in 3rd place with 1:30:33.
In the associated 10k road race, which included one lap instead of the two covered by the 13.1 mile runners, it was David Graham (Unattached) and Claire Quigley (North Down AC) who excelled. David led the way in 33:49 (1st place) with Claire winning the ladies race in 42:10 (1st place).

Omagh Half Marathon
Spar Omagh Half Marathon took place on Saturday 1st April and was attended by a few North Belfast Harriers who completed the course with amazing times. Louise Smith took third place for the ladies.

Antrim 5 mile
Antrim 5 mile race took place on 30th March 2017 and 2 North Belfast Harriers were in attendance. Jonny Steedy (Glen Runners) led the race finishing in 00:26:52. Congratulations to John Miskimmin who came in 5th place with 00:30:12 and Martsje Hell who won the ladies race in 00:30:45.
Queens 5k /3k
The Queens 5k / 3k event was held on Wednesday 29th March 2017 and was attended by thousands of athletes and spectators for the annual ‘Race Round the River’, which also doubled up as the NI & Ulster 5k (Road) Championships.
Despite numerous quality performances and personal bests, it was Conor Bradley (City of Derry AC) and Kerry O’Flaherty (Newcastle AC) who secured victory and ultimately the headlines.
The flat and fast 5k course started on the Annadale Embankment and covered two and three quarter laps (each lap measures approximately 1.8k), finishing outside Queen’s on the Stranmillis Embankment.
North Belfast Harriers had a very successfully evening with the men’s team winning both gold and silver in the Northern Ireland Championships!!!!
This event was highly attended by North Belfast Harriers and was a successful evening for the club. Well done to all!
