NBH Race Report, 24 April – 30 April 2017

A quieter week in the NI running community this week as many Harriers were preparing for the Belfast City Marathon 2017 or still recovering from last weekend’s London Marathon.

Farewell and Good Luck Breege

Sad news for North Belfast Harriers with the confirmation that Kinlough native Breege Connolly is moving on to pastures new. The 2016 Rio Olympian for Ireland is an inspiration and role model to many NBH runners. Breege joined North Belfast Harriers after moving to Belfast wanting to run for fun and to make friends in a new city. She steadily improved and competed in her first competitive marathon at age 34. Four years later in 2016, Breege competed for Ireland in the marathon at the Olympics in Rio in 2016. An achievement made all the more special as Breege fitted in her training while working as a software tester. She has been a fantastic ambassador for North Belfast Harriers and is a shining example of what can be achieved through hard work and dedication. Good luck and best wishes to Breege from North Belfast Harriers.
