NBH Harriers Race Report, 6th – 12th November 2017
A quieter week for North Belfast Harriers as the winter running season gets underway. Athletes from the club competed in races in across the Province. There was trail running in the foot of the Mournes and also in the rolling hills and sweeping forests of Mid Ulster. The club was well represented on Sunday by our junior athletes in Donegal in Cross Country Championships. As ever, North Belfast Harriers were out in force at several Parkrun events in Northern Ireland.
26 EXTREME TRAIL HALF MARATHON, TOLLYMORE FOREST, NEWCASTLE
There was success on Saturday 11th November for North Belfast Harriers at the Tollymore Trail Half Marathon. Gladys Ganiel O’Neill competed against close to 340 people and won the event outright in 01:25:04. The difficult yet scenic Half Marathon was one of four trail events that took place in Tollymore Forest Park in Bryansford, County Down. Results below:-

SPERRIN HARRIERS WINTER SERIES 2017
The 9th Sperrin Harriers Winter Trail Series kicked off on Saturday 11th November. More than 180 runners travelled to the season opener at Davagh Forest, Omagh. North Belfast Harrier Simon Reeve finished in 6th place overall in 00:38:16. Fellow Harrier Colin Simpson completed the scenic course in 00:49:01. The event was won by Eoin Hughes of Acorns AC in 00:35:51.

NORTH BELFAST HARRIERS AT PARK RUN EVENTS 11 November 2017
North Belfast Harriers were out in force again at several Parkruns across Northern Ireland. Close to 220 people ran at Parkrun, Waterworks. John Sloan was the first Harrier home in 4th place in 18:40. Matt Shields was 5th in 18:54 and John Gerard Murphy was 9th finishing in 19:41. It was a milestone run for Dirdre Murphy who completed her 50th Parkrun in 32:47. Well done Dirdre!. Congratulations also to those Harriers who got a new PB this weekend and to Larne Parkrun which celebrated its fourth birthday.
