Torremolinos Half Marathon (Sunday 4th February 2018)
Torremolinos, just 10 miles East of Malaga, has long been a favourite for holiday makers. However not many people know of its excellent Half Marathon in February each year. Some people have used it as a warm-up for the London marathon, but it is a great excuse for a fantastic weekend away. The Torremolinos course takes in much of the beach promenade, and the first 7 miles are very flat. Then the course turns in to the country and becomes undulating for the final 6 miles. Kent Swann was led the NBH contingent home in 1:16:22; David Clarke (1:23:57) was 2nd Male Vet 50, Janice Plumb 13th lady (1:36:06), Penny Lindsay (1:36:31) was 1st Female Vet 50, John Steele completed the course in 1:39:01 and Carol Clarke (1:44:03) was 3rd Female Vet 50. It was a very successful trip which brought home lots of trophies. Congratulations to all!
