NBH Race Report, 26th March – 1st April 2018

Atlas running Belfast 2 Dublin Ultra

This is the second year that Atlas Running has organised this ultra race.  This year the route changed around in the opposite direction with the runners setting off from the Crown bar in Belfast on the 30th March and finishing up at St. James’ gate in Dublin. There were 51 athletes who undertook this epic journey with only 38 managing to tough it out to the finish line.  Two North Belfast Harriers ran and completed the route.

3,000m steeplechase – Spartanburg, South Carolina – 31st March 2018

Conal McCambridge took part in the 3,000m steeplechase on the track, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. This was only his second time competing in this type of race and his target was to break the 10 minute barrier to secure invitations to the Open University meets through the rest of the University track season.

Conal finished in 3rd place and broke his target time coming in at 9:55:22. Adding to this already fantastic achievement Conal is now ranked as the second fastest in the College’s all time list for the 3,000m steeplechase so it’s onwards and upwards to next weekend in Virginia for the North Belfast Harrier making waves on the American running scene.

19th Drents Friesian Wold Marathon – 31st March 2018

Parkruns

The Easter holidays provided an opportunity for some parkrun tourism but the local Waterworks was still a NBH favourite.
