North Belfast Harriers Weekly Results Report. 14th – 20th October 2019.

It was a busy week in the middle of the Autumn marathon season with cross-country, coastal trails and mountains attracting a large contingent of North Belfast Harriers over the weekend.


Comber XC
The second race in the increasingly popular Athletics NI Cross Country League took place on Saturday 19th October. Hosted at Billy Neill Playing Fields by Ballydrain Harriers some 600 athletes of all ages took on the tough and muddy course for a great day of racing.


North Belfast Harriers picked up some age category wins as well as the Men’s Comber Cup with Mark McKinstry, Gareth Lyons, Kent Swann, Neil Carty, David Clarke and Peter Reed. All Harriers contributed points towards the overall league.

Mourne Skyline MTR
The Garmin Mourne Skyline Mountain-Trail Race is 35 kilometres with 3,370m (11,057ft) of accumulative ascent over the scenic Mourne Mountains. Two Harriers that enjoyed the magnificent scenery on what can only be described as a tough but rewarding course were;

GR8 Dundrum Run
The 10th Annual 8-mile multi terrain race took place on Saturday, the race is organised by members of Murlough AC in association with the National Trust and over a thousand runners participated including numerous Harriers.
