North Belfast Harriers race report 9th – 15th August 2021

It is great to see more races starting up again and the harriers were represented in several across the country, from fast 5ks to mountain racing.

Crawfordsburn Trail race – Wednesday 11th August

Taking in a mixture of gravel, tarmac and grass the scenic route weaves through the country park and coastal path.  Ray Cameron took part with a finishing time of 23:48 – well done Ray!

Connswater 5 mile – Friday 13th August

Organised by Victoria Park and Connswater AC this race takes in part of the Connswater Greenway and into beautiful Victoria Park before finishing back at CS Lewis Square.  The following harriers took part – well done all!

Dambusters – Saturday 14th August

Part of the Born to Run series this race takes place in Silent Valley, home to some of the most beautiful scenery in the country.  Gladys Ganiel was the First Lady home in the 10 mile race with a time of 1:02:05- well done Gladys!

Prosecco 5k run – Saturday 14th August

This race takes place in the grounds of Castleward, combining road running with trail and rewarding all finishers with a mini bottle of Prosecco.  The following harriers took part along with some of our recent Jog Belfast graduates – well done all!

Seven Sisters Skyline and Sky Challenge – Saturday 14th August

This tough mountain race takes place in the Derryveagh mountains in Donegal. Two harriers took part – well done guys!

Mourne Seven Sevens Challenge – Saturday 14th August

The Seven Sevens is an 18 mile, 8100ft test of endurance and mountain skills . The objective is to climb all seven peaks in the Mourne Mountains that are over 700m* above sea level following your own route between fixed checkpoints.  Martsje Hell was the second lady home with a time of 5:01:39 – well done Martsje!
