
British Masters Outdoor Track and Field Championships 20-22 August 2021
A Trio of British Masters Champions from North Belfast Harriers! Athletes from North Belfast Harries shone at the weekend, with no less than 5 podium finishes in the British Masters Track and Field Championship. Davey Clarke became a Double British Masters Champion in the M60 category, While Conor Curran and Paul Horan finished first and second, respectively in the M45 category, with Paul Horan then finishing first in the 800m, M45 category. Davey Clarke, became British Masters Champion over 1500m and 800m, in the M60 category, with an impressive time of 4 min, 37 sec for the 1500 and 2 min, 15 sec for the 800m. Conor Curran became British Masters Champion in the M45 category over 1500m with an impressive time of 4 min, 19 sec, with Paul Horan, close behind, taking second place with a time of 4 min, 20 secs. Not to be outdone, on Sunday, Paul Horan would go on to achieve first place in the 800m, M45 category. Staged at the Moorways Athletic Track in Derby, over the weekend, the meet offered male and female masters athletes the opportunity to test themselves against their peers on a national stage. On this occasion Davey Clarke, Conor Curran and Paul Horan truly excelled, with exceptional performances. Well done everyone!

British Festival of Miles 22 August 2021
At a prestigious meet, at the Lynford Christie Stadium in London, North Belfast Harriers athlete, Andrew Milligan took part in the British Milers Club, 1mile race, coming in 5 with a commendable time of 4 min 7 secs.

The Loup Run, 18 August 2021
Taking part in the 5k race at The Loup, near Magherafelt, Cathaior Purvis from North Belfast Harriers, put in a great performance to take first place with an impressive time of 16 minutes 57 seconds. Congratulations to Cathaior for a fantastic race.

Scrabo Hill Race 19 August 2021
Congratulations to Martsje Hell, from North Belfast Harriers for coming first in the women’s race, in the Scrabo Hill Race, on Thursday 19th August. The race, over a 4 mile circuit, consisted of a steep ascent along narrow paths, steps, rocks and tree roots, to test the runners over a figure of eight circuit. Congratulations also to Simon Reeve, who came in sixth.

The Mourne Way Half Marathon, 21 August 2021
Congratulations to Martin Muldoon from North Belfast Harriers, on achieving a podium finish in third place on this challenging and interesting course. The course, which started in Kilbroney Park, Rostrevor comprised a steady climb from the start, leading to a challenging climb that reached more than 470m at the summit. The undulating terrain with uneven rocks proved an enjoyable, yet challenging test for the field, as did the rain, which never ceased. Well done Martin on your time of 1 hour, 33 minutes, 49 seconds.

Mount Stewart Trail Races 21 August 2021
Encompassing the rolling hills around the picturesque grounds of Mount Stewart, the trails races offered a choice of three distances: half marathon, 10k and 5k, with members of North Belfast Harriers being represented in all three races. Fionnuala O’Hare deserves a special mention as the second placed female athlete in the 5k race. Well done Fionnuala and all of the athletes on a challenging day.
