No better sight when dandering down the Mary Peters Hill than seeing the junior stags giving their all on the biggest stage.  In the Primary school section 3 juniors selected by NI Athletics coaches from a pool of athletes represented the club with pride and great enthusiasm. Cormac, Cassie and Senan competed in 4 track and field events (60m – 400m – standing jump – turbo javelin).  Junior results below and full results can be viewed here https://athleticsni.org/Results

Roise Roberts continued her impressive track form winning the womens 2000m in a time of 6.31.56.  That should set her up well now going into the cross country season were she has already represented Northern Ireland. First race is in Armagh on the 26th September.

Leah Horan had a solid run in the U15 Girls 800m race posting a time of 2.35 secs.  Leah is another strong cross country runner and will be looking forward to the mnonths ahead.

125 Year Anniversary

Just back home from a fantasic celebration at the Waterworks for the clubs 125 year anniversary.  It was great to see many of our young runners with extended familes in attendance. Big thanks to the committee for organising this event and putting on fun and food for all of us.  The kids will sleep well tonight as Seamus’s line never dulled all day.

Thanks to all the parents for providing the photos for this weeks report.  Great to see the juniors racing. Message the Whatsapp group if anything has beed left out so it can be added.
