The Bobby Rea XC is the second race in the 2021-2022 Cross Country Fixture List and proves ever popular with the Harriers. The Club was well represented in both the men’s and women’s events.
The course comprises 3 x 2000m laps for the Senior Women and the over 60’s Men, and 4 x 2000m laps for the Senior Men.
Matthew Laverty managed to secure a podium position for the Senior Men.

Sun 24th Oct 2021: EAMS Oktoberfest 6hr Challenge
Greg McClure and Thomas “Tucker” McKinstry took part in the inaugural EAMS Oktoberfest 6hr Challenge on Sunday 24th October. Starting at Mossley Hockey Club the
route consisted of the off-road path to Corrs Corner, then the Ballyclare Road and Manse Road before coming back down to the hockey club. The total lap distance was 2.89 miles.
On a fine day for running, Greg completed 13 laps (37.57m) in 6:18:54, and Tucker completed 11 laps (31.79m).

Sun 24th Oct 2021: Championchip Ireland Shanes Castle Marathon and Half Marathon
Flat, fast 13 mile course over tarmac and concrete roads within the Shanes Castle Estate. One lap for the half marathon distance or run 2 laps for the full marathon.
One Harrier completed the Marathon, whilst two did the Half in which Arron Rutledge secured second place.

Congratulations to Martsje HELL on being the First Lady Finisher at Hillsborough Forest, to Andrew MILLIGAN on finishing first at Ormeau and to Paul HORAN on finishing first at the Valley.
