Sat 23rd Apr 2022: NBH Afternoon of 5000m Races.
Building on the success of the 2021 meet, North Belfast Harriers set themselves the goal of improving the athlete and spectator experience and create a superb day of athletics in Belfast. They did not disappoint.
The event, held at the Mary Peters Track, attracted athletes from across Ireland and GB indicating that this is becoming a popular venue in the racing calendar.
Comprising eight races – six men’s and two ladies, all were live-streamed on YouTube by East Down AC. The races were expertly commentated on by Fintan Reilly and Ronan Duggan, big names in the world of Irish sport. Stephen Kelly did the post-race interviews.
The race conditions were generally good; it was a clear sunny day, windy at times, but that did not prevent athletes from putting in some fine performances.
