It was the last full week of the Summer holidays and many of our Juniors were running at various events and back at training on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Girls Model, keep an eye on the WhatsApp group for times.
This week concludes with the Clubs Laganside 10K at 1pm which also has the Kids 1 mile race in the Ormeau Park taking place before it. We should have a good few of our Juniors taking part so all support welcome for the kids race well as coming along to support the 10k runners.
Waterworks Junior Parkrun – Sunday 28 August
A great turnout of young stags at a sunny Waterworks on Sunday with eight of the first 14 finishers our very own Juniors. Big shout out to Senan Steele for his fastest time in over a year and a new PB taking 12 seconds off his previous best.

Waterworks Parkrun – Saturday 27th August
Well done to our four juniors who completed the 5km parkrun on Saturday. Congratulations to Eimear for a new PB taking 1:22 off his previous best time!

Antrim Coast Classic Street Kids Mile Race – Friday 26th August
Massive well done to Alex Reid who finished in a brilliant 9th place in an excellent time of 5 minutes and 59 seconds, perfect pacing to achieve that sub six minute mile Alex!
Cross country season is almost upon (Yeah!) us and already some excellent events are open for registration. So unpack the waterproofs and get the kids spikes cleaned for the months ahead!
TJ McElmeel – Armagh – Sunday 25th September
This is an excellent cross-country event with races for boys and girls at U9 (500m), U11 (1000m), U13 (1500m) and U15 (3000m). A nice introduction to the 2022/23 cross country season for any of our juniors whether new to cross-country or experienced. Entries close on 20 September.
NI & Ulster Even Age Group Championships – Saturday 22nd October
Registration not open yet but note this for the diaries as it’s a big one. There are cross-country races for U10, U12, U14 and U16 age groups with qualification opportunities for the All-Ireland final either as a first 12 finisher, scoring as a club team or a county team. Details in the link below.
