North Belfast Harriers Race Report 7th – 13th November

Saturday was a busy day of action for NBH runners with some representing at national level at the Master’s Cross County, a selection of trail and ultra races as well as appearances at a wide range of local and (far) further afield parkruns.

British and Irish Masters XC, Dublin
North Belfast Harriers had several athletes selected for the Northern Irish Masters Squad. After a three-year gap, the Master’s International Cross Country returned on Saturday for the Home nations to race the Santry course just outside Dublin.
There were several team medals collected and celebrated at the awards ceremony that evening.

NI 50Km Championship


Greg McClure ran the NI 50Km championship promoted by NIURA and Atlas Running on Saturday at Craigavon Lakes. Conditions were mild, if a little windy. The race consisted of one half lap (2.5k) followed by 10 full laps (each of 4.75k) of the lakes. Greg placed 10th overall in 4:50:08.

Sperrin Harriers Winter Trail Series Davagh 10K

Eadaoin Clare ran the trails of Davagh Forest in 1:16:50

26extreme Tollymore Trails

Helen Weir placed 3rd in the Half Marathon events running the trails of Tollymore Forest, whilst Martin Mullholland broke 90 minutes for 5th place in the Half Marathon also.

Run In The Dark, Belfast

On Wednesday evening almost 1000 runners ran at Stormont for Run In The Dark 5Km 10Km events. Several Harriers usually participate and although clubs aren’t listed in the results Odhran Rafferty, Elisabeth French, Robbie Speers and Gareth Lyons completed the one or two lap course with Gareth Lyons placing 1st in the 10K in 36:45.
