This is an important club update
The club is looking for volunteers to take part in some upcoming running courses.
LIRF – Leader in running fitness: The Leadership in Running Fitness Award will prepare you to provide a safe and enjoyable running experience for participants over the age of 12. On successful completion of the one-day attendance only course you will be licensed and insured to lead groups of adults in running activities taking place away from the club premises. More information can be found here: http://athleticsni.org/Coaches/Qualifications-&-Courses/Leader-In-Running-Fitness
CIRF – The Coach in Running Fitness Award looks to extend the knowledge attained in the Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF) award. The focus of the award is on coaching participants to improve their fitness through running: http://athleticsni.org/Coaches/Qualifications-&-Courses/Coaching-In-Running-and-Fitness
The club is willing to pay for these courses but it is expected that you would utilise your new training to help assist the club.

The club is run completely on volunteer time. None of what happens is by chance and instead requires lot’s of hard work behind the scenes by a small team. We are coming towards our AGM and roles for the coming year are being decided. We need people from the club to step forward and volunteer themselves to take on some of the roles which are being vacated or new roles that are being created. These roles often require only a 2-3 hours of work a month. I really can’t stress enough our reliance on some key people within the club who undertake a lot of hard work to keep the club going. If you feel like you can help out once again please contact Paddy email@example.com
Club Race Target Scheme:
The last two years the club has been focusing on turning out teams to championship events. We have been really successful over this period winning lots of prizes and also in getting people to try out new events like XC.
Next year (2017) to keep this going the committee have agreed to a scheme to reward those who put on a club vest and compete in targeted races. How do we plan to do this? We are going to have quality medals manufactured and award these to people who take part in a specified number of these races. The key element of this scheme is participation. It doesn’t matter if you finish first or last we want to reward everyone who takes part.
More infomration on this scheme can be found here: http://www.northbelfastharriers.com/club-target-race-2017/
